There are reasons why i dont rilli write lately. I still love to write though.
Reasons being:
1. My routine only goes around attending lectures (not that frequent though), going to hospital clerkships, doing major case reports (reporting on one patient i choose; in detail about her disease, drug therapy, patient eduction etc. 30-40 pages) and more brief reports called ‘pharmacist-drug-therapy workout’ a.k.a the PWDT .(10pages ++ for each patient).
I bet no one would want to read about all that.
2. I finished my first exam last week (Nov 7th). I had four papers; CLINICAL PHARMACY, PHARMACOTHERAPEUTICS, CLINICAL PHARMACOKINETICS, BIOSTATISTICS & RESEARCH DESIGN.
What i can say is..all of the papers are difficult! Except for Biostatistics & Research Design. It’s a non-pharmacy paper. So, a bit OK.. I cant believe that I already finished my first part of the MPharm prog. It’s a continuous 12 months prog (2 modules + 1 research project). At the end of the module, we have one written exam (in addition to the case reports/PWDT/presentations throughout the module). It’s roughly - Module 1 (4months) + Module 2 (4months) + Research project (4 months). It’s supposed to be a one and a half year prog. With semester breaks in between. But, then the prog is compressed. That explains why i hardly catches my breath, my sleep etc. In this study marathon, i only can pray I’ll finish in due time. I suppose to finish this masters prog by June 24th, 2009.
3. I have my own personal conflicts now and then. I really wanna write, to express my feelings out. But then, my writings would hurt one’s feelings randomly. So to be on the safe side, i decided not to write.
Plus, i feel like stripping myself naked when the things are too personal for me. Being secretive? Maybe..
It’s been a while since i last wrote int his blog. Yes, this masters program is ‘eating’ my time. Well, I’m telling myself to hang-in-there. I’m doing ICU clerkship from Sept 8th until Oct 8th 08. For roughly a month. And I’m spending most of my fasting month doing this. It’s one of my 4 major clerkships (Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, Paediatric and ICU).
Doing this in fasting month is challenging for me. Well, i cant say much. Many of us do all kinds of work during fasting month. Ok, i cannot make it an excuse.
I’m lost of words now. I’ll write later when i have more interesting topic in mind.

You’ll always be a part of me
I’m a part of you indefinitely
Girl don’t you know you can’t escape me
Ooh darling cause you’ll always be my baby
And we’ll linger on
Time can’t erase a feeling this strong
No way you’re never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you’ll always be my baby
This is my song of the day.. to perk me up this morning. I like his voice singing this sone.
*Hoping that someday there’ll be someone who sincerely sing out and dedicate this song to me..
The Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore will host the 22nd Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) Congress that will take place from the 7th to 10th of November 2008 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore.
This congress, with a timely theme of, “Translational Research: The Approach to Quality Healthcare”, will provide a platform for pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists and clinicians alike to interact and share their collaborative research and practical experiences in our efforts to achieve quality patient-oriented healthcare.
The 22nd FAPA Organising Committee promises a programme that will provide opportunities for delegates to showcase and discuss their translational research activities, which involve the application of scientific methodologies in pharmaceutical, clinical and population studies. The outcomes of such investigations may impact and improve healthcare in areas such as better drug delivery systems, cost-effective management of disease occurrence; reduction of morbidity and mortality in patients.
Singapore is situated in the heart of fascinating Southeast Asia where the East meets the West. Do join us at the 22nd FAPA Congress where I am sure you will be able to network and interact with many pharmacists from around the region and be enthralled by the blend of cultures, cuisine, arts, architecture and shopping that embrace the tradition and modernity of Singapore.
Come and have a unique and memorable experience with us in Singapore!
